After your Faery has cooled you will need to prepare it for painting. The clay has an oil on it after curing, so remove the oil by very carefully washing the figure with soap and water. I use q-tips to carefully clean my figures.Use acrylic paints. Oil paints won't dry. Here you see I am using a mix of Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber and Cobalt Blue, diluted with water.I cover the figure with a wash of the paint. Now, let it set for a moment then clean off the excess paint with clean cotton or swabs. Give the cheeks and mouth a blush of pink.
Now, time to dress your faery. Use anything and everything around your house or yard. Enjoy! This should be a great time. Use any type of glue that works for you.Look at the fun these Faeries are having. They really know how to party! And, I hope you have had fun too. Take your time and be kind to yourself. This should be a pleasure. Remember, nobody's watching. Or, did I hear some tiny feet running down the hall?! ~; ] Give a Faery respite and they will dance sweet dreams into your pillow at night.
