Now, we create the real personality of our Faery. Begin by gently manipulating the clay around the eyes.The smallest manipulation of the clay can change the look of the face.

Take your time. This can be such fun!

Here are five faces that all began exactly the same. I have used tiny pieces of clay to make expressions on their faces. Can you see how one tiny bit of clay can make such a difference?

Why not try this on a practice model until you find the look you want.

Now for a VERY important step.

Hold your Faery's face up to a mirror.

(YIKES! Do you see what I sometimes see?) Check for any asymmetry. Is One ear higher? Or one cheek larger?

It is normal for us to see things differently than they really are. In a mirror you will see the face as others probably do.

Correct any problem areas before curing.

Now bake (cure) in oven per the directions on the clay pack. Don't under bake. It will result in a weak figure or cracking.

After baking, allow head to cool before proceeding.
